Listing Tips

A few pointers on how to make the most of your bike, skis, or snowboard rental.

Be Friendly

Treat the renter like a friend who's borrowing your ride.

Be Flexible

Whether it's the timing or the pick up location of the rental, remember to be flexible. It makes it a lot more fun.

Explain How to Keep the Ride Safe

Tell the renter the best way to lock up your ride and where you normally lock your bike or store your skis or snowboard.

Be On Time

Spinlister depends on meeting up in the real world, which is a lot easier when everyone's on time or a little early.

Keep Your Ride Well Maintained

Before every rental make sure your bike, skis, or snowboard are safe to ride. Be sure to have your ski or snowboard bindings adjusted correctly before handing it out to the renter.

Use Your Brain

Your common sense and good judgment are second to none when evaluating good renters and tricky situations.

Use a Spare Key

Having your bike lock key on its own keychain makes it easier to keep track of for both you and the renter.

Respond to Rental Requests Quickly

Whether accepting or declining the rental request, a speedy response helps the renter and helps your Lister ranking. We recommend all communications be through the app or site. This makes communication efficient and safe.

Pump Up Your Tires & Wax Your Ride

Make sure your bike's tires are filled. You can find the appropriate pressure right on the tire. For Skis & Snowboards waxing can reduce the risk of minor damage to the base.

Share Your Favorite Rides

Be sure to share with the renter your favorite rides, runs, places to see, or spots to grab a bite on the mountain. That's what makes Spinlister great!

Offer Your Lock, Boots, & Helmet

Make sure you both know if a lock, boots, or helmet is included in the exchange. We also recommend eye protection of sunglasses or goggles.

Adjust Your Bike Seat

Either adjust your bike seat in advance or be prepared to change it for the renter when they arrive. A few inches can make all the difference!

Make Sure Your Ride is Right for the Renter

If you have a professional bike, skis, or snowboard or it's a specific size or they require special bindings or boots, make sure the renter knows what to expect.

Verify Your Account

Renters prefer renting from people who have verified their account with Facebook, Twitter, & Mobile.
